Shannon Hays is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in Pennsylvania.  She holds certification as a National Certified Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).  She earned a Masters of in Professional Clinical Counseling from La Salle University as well as a Bachelors of Science in Human Service and Minor in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College.  Shannon also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Trauma Informed Practice from Bryn Mawr College.

Shannon specializes in working with individuals and families wishing to overcome an array of challenges including eating disorders, addictions, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder and many other concerns.   Shannon is a passionate advocate and ally for the LBGTQI Community. Regardless of the identified challenges of any individual and family she works with, Shannon believes all individuals have the strength to make lasting change in their lives. Shannon takes a strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy, with an emphasis on compassion and creating a safe space for the individual. Drawing heavily from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Systems theory, she believes strongly in empowerment and tailoring the therapeutic experience to the needs and personality of the individual. Shannon believes in a solutions-focused, holistic approach to change.

In addition to serving as a therapist for the Bucks LBGTQ Center, Shannon works to serve individuals recovering from addictions and co-occurring disorders as Program Supervisor at a local inpatient residential facility.  Shannon has gained experience in working with clients with co-occurring eating disorders and addiction and providing therapy, meal support and case management services.
