Michael Urban, LSW is a licensed social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. Mike earned his Masters in Social Work from Widener University. He holds a B.S in Paralegal studies from Widener as well. He also works at Livengrin treatment center an inpatient substance use disorder treatment center.
Mike uses a collaborative approach in his style of treatment. He likes to meet clients where they are at in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience . His approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT, and exposure therapy. He works to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. He sees himself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual that allows them to be the decision maker. This client-centered model allows for an individualized treatment plan.
Mike completed his masters level internship at Ambrosia treatment center. Ambrosia is an inpatient substance abuse facility. He then worked at Sobriety Solutions an outpatient substance use facility. He also developed an outpatient program for individuals who have occurring eating disorders and substance use disorders. He has a passion for running support groups for family members of those struggling with substance use and eating disorders.
