Kaitlyn Vanderlaan, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania. Kaitlyn earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Ursinus College. Kaitlyn is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and also a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher. Additionally, Kaitlyn is part of Bucks Eating Support Collaborative and Bucks Support Services.
Kaitlyn has always been an Ally to the LGBTQ+ community and provides a safe space to those who identify as LGBTQ+ to be themselves and feel understood. Kaitlyn believes the relationship between therapist and client is important to facilitate growth and change. She aims to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere that empowers individuals to explore underlying problems, identify strengths, and develop effective coping strategies. Kaitlyn works with individuals experiencing many different issues such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Kaitlyn uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, drawing on concepts from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Kaitlyn has experience working in a variety of settings, including a Master’s level internship at Friends Hospital as well as Edward T. Steel Elementary School, providing individual and group counseling to adolescents experiencing mental health, substance use, or behavioral concerns. Kaitlyn also worked at Family Service Association of Bucks County as a Therapist, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, Kaitlyn has worked at Adult Mobile Crisis of Montgomery County through Access Services, providing brief counseling and crisis intervention to adults in the community. Most recently, Kaitlyn has worked at Crisis Text Line, as a Crisis Counselor Supervisor, supporting and providing feedback to volunteers on the hotline.
