Heidi J. Dalzell, PsyD, CEDS, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and an iaedp Approved Supervisor. Dr. Dalzell brings 20 years of clinical experience to her role of Clinical Director of the Bucks LGBTQ Center. Dr. Dalzell graduated summa cum laude from Immaculata University, where she completed her research on early trauma. She also holds an Ed.M. from Temple University.

Dr. Dalzell has a busy private practice. Special areas of interest include body image and eating disorders, particularly in LGBTQ individuals. Dr. Dalzell is passionate about promoting healthy body image, sexuality and self-acceptance in LGBTQ youth, especially those that are in the formative process of identifying their sexual and/or gender identities.

Dr. Dalzell has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings including Eating Disorders Treatment Center and Belmont Center’s Eating Disorder Program. She is also the past coordinator of the Certified Alcohol Counselor Program at Bucks County Community College.

Dr. Dalzell is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and APA Division 44 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Issues/ Psychology of Sexual Orientation & Gender Diversity, and is active in the International Association for Eating Disorders Professionals, where she serves on the board.

Dr. Dalzell is also a writer for Kidspeace, CE4Less, and speaker at professional and community events. Along with Dr. Hunt, Dr. Dalzell has presented “Gender and Body Image: Outside of the Binary Working with Transgender and Gender Fluid Youth” at the Quarterly Philadelphia IAEDP meeting, “Body image in LGBT Youth” at the Princeton PFLAG meeting, and has authored “Domestic Violence: Special Populations,” which explores domestic violence in LGBT couples.

Dr. Dalzell is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), advanced mindfulness techniques, and dialectical behavior therapy. Dr. Dalzell is an interactive and engaging therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address life challenges. She offers a variety of techniques and a personalized approach for each client.
